Ballerium is a vast world with one single sun always shining above it and providing the energy anf light for life. This sun goes through a never-ending cycle of color-changes, known as phases.
Seven sentient races populate the world, and live together in the cities dotting the landscape. Each race is connected with one color of the sun and prefers that color above all. Lately, a number of anomalies have appeared on the surface of the sun, and many believe that the end of the world is near. Thus, all of Ballerium's inhabitants wish to escape to other worlds, through the use of dimensional gates. Others see the gates themselves as the real threat, as they seem to be connected with the dreaded Shard-Rifts (dimensional rifts between Ballerium and other planes of existence, pouring forth horrid monsters into the land). There are yet others who care for nothing but exploiting the situation to amass power and wealth.
Ballerium is now a torn and fragmented world where might makes right, and the inhabitants of the once-safe cities now turn to roaming bands of soldiers and warriors to help them protect themselves against marauding monsters and raiders, and crumbling political institutions try to enlist these same bands to their cause be it what it may.
Learn more about the history of Ballerium by reading the growing chronicle.
Ballerium is far off planet facing troubling times. For the first time in its history, the world of Ballerium has been experiencing a global crisis: an oncoming cataclysmic event is about to bring about the end of the world.
Each player in the game controls an Avatar - a spirit of a great hero, and a group of followers (called "units" ingame) of that Avatar. Players are free to choose their own goals - whether they wish to try to reveal the mysteries of the gates, to simply amass power and wealth, or to conquer every city and become the ultimate Avatar in Ballerium.
The means for achieving success in the game center around collecting money and resources in order to build a larger army and then banding together with other players to defeat mutual enemies. Players can explore the world seeking new challenges and areas to dominate.
